Alpha International Filming and Photography Privacy Notice
- Introduction
Alpha International (Alpha) is committed to protecting your privacy and ensuring that your personal data is handled in a safe and responsible manner. This policy outlines how we collect, use, and protect personal data in relation to filming and photography activities.
This privacy notice applies to all events and activities organised by Alpha where filming and photography may take place.
2. Data Controller
Alpha International is a charity registered in England & Wales with number 1086179, in Scotland with number SC042906 and a private company limited by guarantee registered in England & Wales with number 4157379.
3. Alpha’s Partner Charities
Alpha International (data controller) works in partnership with four other independent charities that have a shared heritage and have come out of Holy Trinity Brompton church. These charities all have a registered office at Brompton Road, London, SW7 1JA and are:
- Holy Trinity Brompton (charity no. 1133793);
- St Paul’s Theological Centre (charity no. 1111609 and company no. 5543940);
- Church Renewal Trust (charity no. 1129661 and company no. 6849860);
- Church Revitalisation Trust (charity no. 1174882 and company no. 10754427).
We work cooperatively and collaboratively with many shared systems, processes and policies. In light of the close partnership, we have agreed to adopt a common approach to privacy and data protection. The individual charities have entered into a formal data sharing agreement to regulate the extent to which data may be shared between the charities and the protection and procedures in place to regulate this sharing of data.
4. Legal Framework
We comply with the retained EU law version of the General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018. We use the following lawful basis for capturing images and footage at our events.
- Explicit Consent: We will ask for your written consent before commencing filming or taking your image where this will, or may, include special categories of personal data, such as religious belief or information relating to your health.
- Consent: Consent will be obtained either by capturing an image of you holding our “consent laminate” or by way of a written form signed by you, usually where we feature you in some way, either on your own or with others, in an image or film.
- Legitimate Interest: We will provide clear information on notices prominently displayed in and around any “filming zones” where we intend to capture footage or images clearly stating how your images will be used, stored, and any potential risks associated with sharing them. Whenever it is possible to do so, we will provide “no film zones” where you can enjoy our events without being captured.

6. Our Use of Images and Filming
- Purpose: Your images will only be used for promotional, fundraising, marketing and general charitable purposes, unless otherwise specified at the time within our filming notices and at the point of consent capture.
- Storage: Your images will be stored securely and only be accessible to authorised personnel.
- Duration: Your images will be retained for as long as necessary to fulfil the purposes we collected it for, after which they may be retained for archival purposes. Further details are available within our main Privacy Notice(QR code available below).
7. Your Rights
- Access: You have the right to access your personal data and request a copy of any images we hold.
- Rectification: You can request corrections to any inaccurate or incomplete data.
- Erasure: You have the right to request the deletion of your images at any time.
- Objection: You can object to the processing of your images for specific purposes.
- (Explicit) Consent: You can withdraw consent or explicit consent at any time and we will stop using your images within future projects, but owing to the nature of the internet and social media it may not always be possible to remove existing materials.

8. Children and Vulnerable Individuals
- Parental Consent: For children under the age of 16, we will obtain consent from a parent or guardian where any images or footage contains close-ups of them. Children (of any age) may appear in crowd shots or atmospheric wide angle shots. If you or your child would like us to delete any images or footage we are using containing your child please email [email protected].
- Safeguarding: We take extra precautions to ensure the safety and privacy of children and vulnerable individuals.
9. Sharing Images and Footage
We may share images and footage with our partner charities set out above, and with independent Alpha offices located in countries around the world (Alpha Offices) and any other third parties specified within our filming notices at the time and at the point of consent capture, and with:
- Churches within the HTB network located in the UK and abroad
- St Mellitus College (charity no. 1094157) and St Luke’s Redcliffe Gardens (charity no. 1130681)
- Event managers and/or venue owners (where events take place, in whole or in part)
- UK and international third-party media outlets (using our content)
- Photographers, videographers and content creators working on our events
- Translation and transcription companies, including use of artificial intelligence.
